AKUMS existing six state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities have huge per day capacity to produce formulations in practically all dosage forms, i.e. Tablets, Capsules, Soft Gels, Dry Syrups, Liquid Orals, Powder in Sachet, Dry & Liquid Injections, Pre-filled Syringes, Large Volume Parenterals (up to 100 ml) and Eye / Ear / Nasal Drops in FORM FILL & SEAL and THREE PIECE Packs.

AKUMS first Plant commissioned in the year 2004 is the State-of-the-Art manufacturing facility producing Tablets, Capsules, Soft – Gelatin Capsules & Dry Syrups with huge PER DAY manufacturing capacity in all sections and has separate blocks for Beta Lactums, Non–Beta Lactums, Cephalosporin & Penicillin.

AKUMS second & third State-of–the-Art world class facilities established in the year 2007 are producing medicines in the form of liquid orals and Jellies (in Plant II) and liquid & dry injections, large volume parenterals, Pre-Filled Syringes and Eye/Ear/Nasal drops in FFS and Three piece pack (in Plant III).   

AKUMS fourth world class Facility designed as per USA-FDA norms producing wide range of HORMONAL preparations in Oral (Solid & Liquid) & Injectable forms and fifth plant producing wide range of Skin Ointments & Cosmetic preparations were commissioned in the year 2010.

AKUMS MAXCURE Plant sixth, the state–of-the-art-manufacturing facility was also set up in 2010 and manufacturing Ayurvedic, Nutraceutical & Food supplements for top pharma companies of India.

AKUMS seventh state–of-the-art Manufacturing facility to produce world class Oncology formulations in Oral & Injectable forms is under construction and slated to commence production in the next financial year.

AKUMS  Plant I, II &  III  are accredited with WHO-GMP & ISO 9001:2008 certificates instituted by International bodies, which are awarded after extensive & stringent inspection of manufacturing facilities, procedures, quality of formulations. AKUMS has also been awarded with ISO: 14001:2004 certificates for its environmental friendly and energy saving facilities. AKUMS Units II, III, IV & V are designed as per UK-MHRA and US-FDA norms. Units II & III are ready for audit by regulatory authorities of US & UK and are sure to pass the inspection for US-FDA & UK-MHRA accreditations. AKUMS units IV, V & VI are sure to get WHO-GMP Certificate in next couple of months.

AKUMS has full-fledged NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT with highly qualified & experienced personnel and has already obtained DCGI approval for more than 200 F.D.Cs & new molecules, out of which majority of them have been obtained for the first time by AKUMS.

AKUMS manufactures more than 1000 different formulations in practically all dosage forms and in most of the therapeutic segments.

AKUMS units have been successfully audited and approved by the M.O.H. Departments of Belarus, Libya, Cuba, Ukraine  and Nepal by the QA/QC personnel of foreign multi-national companies, namely; Ful-Ford (U.S.A.), Abbott (Chicago) Med-Interplast (Belarus), Alwatan (Libya), United Laboratories (Philippines), Kalbe International (Indonesia ), Ananta (Ukraine), Alter-ego (Ukraine), Coral Med (Russia ). The audit teams from Indian Multinational companies, namely; Sanofi-Aventis, Abbott, Wockhardt, Micro, Sun Pharma, Torrent, Lupin, Intas, Alembic, Emcure, Modi-Mundi, Zydus Cadila, Alkem, Blue Cross, FDC, Flamingo, Indoco, Win Medicare, Panacea, Nicholas Piramal, Glenmark, Ranbaxy, have approved all the units and getting their products manufactured at AKUMS either on Principal to Principal or Loan License basis for their domestic as well as export requirements.

AKUMS Drug Regulatory Department has well trained personnel for reviewing drug registration procedures with various Ministries of Health across the globe and for making products’ dossiers. AKUMS has already submitted more than 350 dossiers for registration in different countries as per their specific guidelines.

AKUMS is registered in Libya, Belarus, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Nepal, Vietnam and has got good number of products registered with NAFDAC, Nigeria.  Akums is also exporting its formulations to Russia & Turkmenistan, etc.

AKUMS has achieved a turnover of US$ 100 millions, registering 15% growth with a net profit of US$ 10 million during the last financial year 2009-2010; and aims to achieve a turnover of US$700 millions in next five years.
